People I Trust

Today was our last lesson in Keeping Ourselves Safe. We talked about saying No to touches we don't like  and then built up a list of people we trust.
Eilish and her Godmother.

Lola trusts her Mum and Dad.

Xander trusts his Mum and the Life Guard.

Tyler trusts his Uncle and cousins.

Next week I will be away on Monday at a writing course. Bridget will be doing her release for me that day. I will be in the classroom on Wednesday. We have 2 New Entrants starting on Wednesday and Thursday; Amelia Cody and Millie Dolan. Friday we have the trip to Ferrymead! Selma, Mira's Mum had her name pulled out of the box. She will be the parent help.

Have a lovely weekend

Today in our Keeping Ourselves Safe health lesson we learned about different types of touch - touch we like, touch that hurts and we want to stop, and confusing touch that we want to stop.

Our learning Intentions for this lesson were:
Children can:
decide whether a touch is one they like, one they don’t like or one that is confusing.
say how different types of touch make us feel.

Some examples of types of touch we discussed:
Touch we like: A hug with Dad, holding hands with Mum, sitting close to a friend.
Touch we don’t like: Kicking, hitting, being pushed, having your hair pulled.
Confusing touch: Having your pants pulled down, tickling that’s too hard.

If you have any questions please come and see me.

Keeping Ourselves Safe

This week we have spent two lessons discussing what it meant to be safe.

We talked about who we felt safe with and today we discussed places beside our home that we felt safe in.
Keelee's drawing.
Abi's drawing.
Rhy's drawing.
Lola's drawing.

This week each class received 4 new I Pads.
We used the I Pads to draw some- one we felt
safe with.

Xander, Isla, Lexie and Sam enjoying the new I Pads.

Two of our new entrants, Molly and Lola.

Lastly our Junior Classes are now called the Rutherford team. The notice that went out on Wednesday about the trip to Ferrymead was only for Rooms 1,2, 11 and 12.

Happy Mothers Day to all Room 1 Mums!
